NO CHARGES AFTER GIRL STRUCK BY VEHICLE IN HAMILTON
Police won’t be laying charges after an 11-year-old girl was struck while walking on a sidewalk in Hamilton in the fall.
In a news release issued on Tuesday, Hamilton Police said on Sept. 10, 2024, at 8:41 a.m, officers were called to a collision involving an 11-year-old female pedestrian at Emerald St. N and Keith St.
Cops say the young girl was walking on the sidewalk of Emerald St. N when she was hit by a blue Ford Mustang traveling westbound on Keith St. after the vehicle proceeded through the intersection and struck her, pinning her between the vehicle and a building.
Police said the girl was transported to hospital with life-altering injuries as was the driver of the Ford Mustang with non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s since been determined that the driver of the Ford Mustang experienced a medical episode and was unable to avoid the pedestrian and, as a result, no charges will be pursued.
