Police are appealing for information after reports of an armed robbery in the Holylands area of south Belfast on Saturday.
It was reported that a man threatened two male staff members with a knife in an off-license in the Agincourt Avenue area at around 4.25pm
The man made off with a sum of money and some tobacco before fleeing towards the Botanic Avenue area.
He is described as wearing a black jacket, black bottoms and a blue surgical mask face covering.
Detective Sergeant Faulkner said: “Thankfully there were no injuries, however, this was undoubtedly a traumatic incident for staff and happened on a busy Saturday afternoon.
“It was reported the offender made off on foot with a sum of money and a quantity of tobacco towards the Botanic Avenue area following the incident.
“The man is described as 5”10 in height, wearing a black coloured jacket with a grey hood, black bottoms and light-coloured trainers. He is believed to have been wearing a blue coloured surgical style mask and a red glove.
“Anyone with any information about this incident or who captured any dash-cam or CCTV footage in the area that may be able to help with the investigation, is asked to call detectives in Musgrave, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 1079 01/03/25.”
