Want to enjoy your favourite movie in surround sound wirelessly without breaking the bank – or waking up the children? The Mixx StreamQ TV Bundle promises to do just that.
The pair of over-the-ear headphones come with an audio transceiver that streams audio from your TV right into your ears. However, it does a lot more than just that.
The MIXX StreamQ Surround over-ear wireless Bluetooth headphones offer dynamic, cinema-like 3D surround sound, and are comfortable enough, although they do feel a little plasticky and the battery of around 40 hours is OK, but a little bit off similar-priced devices. There’s also no ANC but they do still block plenty over outside noise.
You can choose between two modes – voice and music, the former ensures crystal-clear dialogue, particularly during speech-heavy scenes, while the later delivers a balanced musical experience with a wide soundstage and rich sound. I found both these modes impactful, especially the voice option as modern-day movies tend to drown out what people are saying! The low-latency Bluetooth also made sure audio was synchronised without lip-sync issues.
The transmitter mimics the budget feel but is a very useful piece of kit. It can stream audio wirelessly from a TV to one or two sets of StreamQ headphones (via a headphone jack or digital audio port) while simultaneously passing the audio through to a home sound system or soundbar. Now that’s pretty impressive on its own but there’s more.

Switching over to receive mode means you can streams music from any Bluetooth-enabled device, such as a smartphone, to a home audio system or soundbar for high-quality wireless playback. This is a terrific option for people looking to easily upgrade an old hi-fi system. I found this worked really well and was the actual feature that I ended up using the most.
All in all, I found the MIXX StreamQ TV Bundle Pack useful and feature-packed. Being able to listen to film or TV show as loud as I liked without bothering others. The build qualify was a tad concerning, not so much with the transmitter but with the headphones themselves, especially when compared to simillar-priced over-the-ear options.
The Mixx StreamQ TV Bundle is available for £95 via Amazon.
