Meghan Markle made her feelings clear on beer with her latest trademark application.

The mother-of-two is expanding her “As Ever” lifestyle brand to include alcoholic beverages.


The Duchess of Sussex has applied to the US Patent and Trademark Office for permission to market alcohol as part of her new venture.

However, documents revealed her team has requested approval to sell “alcoholic beverages except beers” alongside alcoholic cocktail mixes.

The former actress, who is known to enjoy wine, appears to be diversifying her business interests with this latest move.

Meghan’s husband, Prince Harry, is a big fan of beer, having been seen drinking the beverage with rugby legend Richie McCaw at the Invictus Games in Vancouver last month.

The Duchess’s trademark application also includes provisions for non-alcoholic cocktail bases and mixers.

Legal documents submitted to the US Patent and Trademark Office detail the scope of her planned offerings.

This move into alcoholic beverages represents a significant expansion for the As Ever brand, which Meghan is preparing to launch.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has also recently expanded her “As Ever” brand to include sweet treats.

The Mail reported that Meghan has added cookies to her growing product line.

“As Ever” appears to be evolving into a multi-category offering that spans both consumable and non-consumable products.

The Duchess, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020, continues to develop independent business ventures.

The timing of these trademark filings indicates Meghan is actively preparing for a full-scale launch of her lifestyle brand in the near future.

It comes as the former working royal’s Netflix series – With Love, Meghan – is due to drop on the streaming platform within days.

Meghan is expected to use “As Ever” products during the series, having previously described Netflix as her “business partner”.
