A ‘beautiful’ designer perfume with a scent so ‘incredible’ it ‘turns heads’ has been massively reduced in price. Debenhams has slashed the ‘gorgeous’ fragrance as part of its online beauty sale.
The sale makes now the best time to bag a bargain treat for yourself or to stash away for Mother’s Day. The retailer has reduced how much beauty shoppers need to pay for Lancôme’s La Vie est Belle Eau de Parfum.
Customers can get a 30ml bottle for as little as £48 – down from its original price of £69. A huge 150ml bottle is usually worth as much as £160, but even that has dropped down to £128. A 50ml bottle has been jumped down from £97 to £67 and the 100ml option is now £88 instead of £127.
The Eau de Parfum La Vie Est Belle was created for Lancôme by some of the “most renowned French perfumers” – Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion. The fragrance boasts a “powerful trail”, with iris, patchouli, and an “alluring” vanilla blend, creating the “perfect scent of happiness”.

For Dominique, La vie est belle is the most recognisable perfume in the world, he said: “When you smell La vie est belle on the street, there is no hesitation on whether this is La vie est belle or another fragrance. Its identity is obvious and instant”. Anne Flipo declares that La vie est belle is an olfactory smile, created to be “delicious”.
On Debenhams’ website, La Vie Est Belle has an impressive customer rating of 4.8 stars out of five from more than 3,300 reviews. In one five-star review, a shopper said: “Beautiful smelling, long-lasting perfume that turns heads.”
A second said: “Love the brand, the fragrance, the bottle and for years I am a big fan. Not too strong, but noticeable, gentle. Very stylish smell and classic bottle.” A third said: “A lovely perfume and great value for money amazing.”
A fourth added: “My go to favourite, I get loads of compliments when I wear it.” Another put: “This was a steel at £126 for a 150ml, the same size in boots is £160. A no brainer.” Someone else wrote: “Best price that l could find. With free delivery too.cant fault, very happy.”
However, some weren’t as impressed. One shopper claimed the formula has changed, writing: “I live in this perfume since it was introduced to me… I do not feel properly dressed without La vie est belle. However, I recently bought a new bottle and I am disappointed, the concentration appears more diluted and the smell does not last long.”
Another put: “This used to be my go to perfume but sadly the formula has changed. This now lasts a max of 30 mins on your skin- save your money.” A third said: “This used to be my go to perfume but now is very very weak. It’s lasts about 15 mins!”
Elsewhere, a 30ml bottle of Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle is available at Boots for £53.60. At Superdrug, you can get the same size for £45.60. Another one of Lancôme’s perfumes, La Vie Est Belle Rose Extraordinaire Eau de Parfum, is on sale for £98 from Amazon. Other strong-smelling floral perfumes include Luminate, which costs £14 for a 50ml bottle. There’s also Dior’s Miss Dior Eau de Parfum for £61.20 at Sephora.
