A young woman was killed in a dog attack in South Bristol has been named by police. Morgan Dorsett, 19 is believed to have been the victim of a dog attack at a property on Cobhorn Drive on Wednesday evening (February 26).
Emergency services were called to the scene, but despite best efforts, she died at the scene. Megan, from Shropshire was called a “lovely girl” by neighbours and floral tributes have been left at the scene.
Formal identification is yet to take place, but officers were told at the scene of the attack that 19-year-old Megan is the victim. Megan’s family are being supported by a specialist officer following the death.

Initial reports suggest the dog was an XL Bully, but that has yet to be confirmed by vets. The dog has since been put down.
Two people, a man and a woman, both aged in their 20s, who were arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death and possession of a prohibited breed. They have since been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
Police officers continue to investigate the attack and are appealing for anyone with information to contact police. Anyone who may be able to assist officers is asked to call 101 quoting the reference number 5225051097.
A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: “The family of a woman who tragically died after she was attacked by a dog in south Bristol have thanked the public for their support. While the formal identification process is yet to be completed, officers were told at the scene that the victim is 19-year-old Morgan Dorsett from Shropshire.
“She sadly died at a residential property in Cobhorn Drive on Wednesday evening (26 February), despite the efforts of emergency services. Work to confirm the type of the dog involved continues. It has been put down.
“A man and a woman, both aged in their 20s, who were arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death and possession of a prohibited breed of dog on Wednesday, have since been released on conditional police bail while enquiries continue.
“Morgan’s family continue to be updated on the investigation and are being supported by a specially trained officer. They have thanked members of the public for their support and those who have left flowers. They have asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time.
