York Regional Police have laid 39 additional charges against two GTA men in Project Skyfall, a year-long investigation into home invasions, armed robberies and drug trafficking.

Earlier, 17 people were charged with 83 collective offences, three firearms recovered and more than $14 million of illegal drugs seized.

The continued investigation led to charges related to allegedly accessing the databanks of the Ministry of Transportation to benefit the criminal network.

Shanell Ridgwell, 33, of Orangeville, is charged with 13 counts each of unauthorized use of computer and breach of trust.

Newton Treasure, 34, of Brampton, is charged with 13 counts of unauthorized use of computer.

The investigation dates back to Dec. 24, 2023, when York cops responded to a home invasion in the area of Forest Dr. and Harmonia Cr. in Vaughan.

It’s alleged three masked bandits forced entry into the home, held the occupants at gunpoint and assaulted them while making demands for money.

Police say one of the responding officers discharged their firearm multiple times and one suspect was taken into custody while two others fled the scene.

Cops also allege a loaded firearm was dropped by one of the suspects and seized.

No one was seriously injured.

The investigation unraveled a larger criminal network that police allege was actively planning home invasions, armed robberies and trafficking drugs.
