Prince William rushed to correct a social media blunder in the latest royal update.
The Prince of Wales took to X and Instagram under the shared profile with his wife, Princess Kate, to send his condolences to Gene Hackman.
Hackman, his wife, and one of their three dogs were found dead at their home in New Mexico on February 26.
Prince William, the patron of BAFTA, reposted a message from the organisation that paid tribute to Hackman.

However, he initially accidentally left off the “W” at the end of the post – a sign that William himself wrote it.
The post originally read: “So sad to hear the news of the death of Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy.
“Hackman was a true genius of film who brought each and every character to life with power, authenticity and star quality.”
The Prince of Wales and his social media team quickly corrected the blunder within minutes – adding the “W” at the end.

BAFTA paid tribute to Hackman, writing: “We are saddened to hear that the much-celebrated actor Gene Hackman has died aged 95.
“Hackman’s illustrious career spanned over six decades and earned him BAFTA wins for his work in Unforgiven, The French Connection and The Poseidon Adventure.”
Prince William stepped out earlier this week with the Princess of Wales to travel to Pontypridd in south Wales.
This marked the couple’s first joint engagement since earlier this year when they attended events to commemmorate Holocaust Memorial Day.

Hackman, 95, and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 63, had been married since 1991.
The legendary actor was known for his roles in films, including The French Connection, Unforgiven and Superman.
Local authorities have launched a death investigation at the Santa Fe Summit home where the couple resided.
No cause of death has been revealed as of yet.
