Toronto Police have arrested one suspect and are looking for another after a male was stabbed Friday morning downtown.

The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. in the area of Church and Maitland Sts.

The victim sustained serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. No other information on him was immediately released.

Cops say the suspects fled on foot and at one point, Church Street Junior Public School was placed in a hold and secure but it has since been lifted.

One suspect was arrested nearby and the search continues for the second, described by police as a Black male wearing black/red/blue jacket and black pants.

Church Street was closed between Maitland and Alexander Sts. for the police investigation and motorists were told to expect delays in the area.
