Britain’s Got Talent judge and Heart Radio host Amanda Holden has shared an update about a fresh chapter in her marriage with husband Chris Hughes.
The 54-year-old recently said that with the pair having “separate lives” due to their busy careers, her spouse suggested they should have more quality time together.
To her surprise, he signed them up to Badminton and they had their first match against each other on Wednesday.
Ahead of taking on the challenge, Amanda sought tips from a Badminton coach named Leon during a live segment on Heart Radio.
As well as him advising her to wear proper shoes and to serve underarm, he also urged her to play the shuttlecock close to the net to keep her sporty husband moving.
In an update on Thursday’s radio show, Amanda said their unique date night was “so good” and that they were going to play it again.
“We just got into the swing of it and we absolutely loved it,” she recounted.

“We played for a good solid hour, we just knocked about a bit, we just played about. He won 21-15 but I thought that wasn’t bad for me.”
Amanda also admitted to using Jamie Theakston’s tip of playing it short, which she strategically kept from her husband.
She went on to say she had purchased herself some more appropriate shoes to wear for the sport after realising she had worn the wrong pair.
Sharing more about her newfound challenge, she continued: “This is the start of a beautiful… yes… we’ve just got to find the time each week, as obviously that is where we struggle.
“Honestly, we had such a laugh and then all night we were saying how much we loved it.”
Amanda and her husband have enjoyed more than two decades together, having wed in 2008.
They are parents to two daughters, Lexie, 19, and Hollie, 12.
Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden airs weekdays from 6.30am.
Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job airs tonight 8.30pm on BBC One.
