Police carried out two arrests earlier today after a raid found a large quantity of suspected drugs as well as cash and other items in a Dunmurry property.

A man (31) and woman (34) were brought into custody on suspicion of cultivating cannabis, possession of Class B controlled drugs and possession with intent to supply Class B controlled drugs.

Approximately £1,000 in cash was recovered from the property in the Glenkeen area, with the suspected cannabis having an estimated street value of £25k.

Sergeant Patterson said: “Following a proactive policing operation, officers carried out a search of a property in the Glenkeen area of Dunmurry.

“A quantity of suspected Class B controlled drugs with an estimated street value of £25,000, approximately £1,000 in cash and other items were seized from the property and have been taken away for further forensic examinations.

“A 34 year old man and a 31 year old woman were arrested on suspicion of possession of Class B Controlled drugs, possession of Class B Controlled drugs with intent to supply and cultivating cannabis. Both remain in police custody at this time.

“The seizure demonstrates our commitment to keeping local communities safe from this type of criminality and removing these illegal substances from our streets.
