Supermarket behemoth Morrisons has unveiled a collaboration with discount platform Purpl to offer exclusive online discounts to disabled individuals throughout the UK.
The grocery titan is extending a 10 per cent discount to disabled customers who spend £25 or more on online groceries – all they need to do is enter the exclusive code at the online checkout.
This deal is open to anyone with a disability, including recipients of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance (DLA), Blue Badge holders, disabled bus pass users and those with a disabled person’s railcard. To access Purpl’s vast array of discounts, simply upload a photo of your award letter or Blue Badge for verification within an hour.
Morrisons’ online shoppers can choose to have their groceries delivered directly to their home on the same day, or schedule a delivery or Click and Collect slot up to four weeks in advance. Alternatively, they can opt for a same-day Express or Click and Collect service, with deliveries available nationwide seven days a week from as little as £1.50.

The partnership with Purpl is set to commence as a trial aimed at assisting millions of disabled people across the UK, reports the Daily Record.
The discount is available on top of the benefits offered by Morrisons’ More Card, which allows customers to snap up more exclusive deals on a variety of essentials and favourites, as well as earn 5 More Card Points for every product purchased. Once customers rack up 5,000 More Card Points, they’re rewarded with a Morrisons Fiver, redeemable on their next shopping trip, be it in-store or online.
In terms of savings, a typical family of four in the UK, which on average spends £117 weekly on groceries, could shave off about £11.70 each week, £46.40 monthly, and an impressive £556.80 across the year by using the exclusive 10 per cent discount aimed at aiding disabled households.
Charlotte Exell, the Director of Online and Ability Lead for Morrisons, shared her enthusiasm: “We’re delighted to be partnering with Purpl to help make Morrisons more accessible to customers living with a disability. We know from listening to our disabled customers that they often face a number of additional living expenses and so this trial will help lower the cost of their grocery bills.”
Purpl was founded in July 2024 by Georgina Colman, who deals with multiple sclerosis and ADHD. She was motivated to launch the platform to mitigate the extra costs that can come with living with disabilities.
On the collaboration with Morrisons, she said: “I am so proud that we’ve been able to partner with Morrisons to offer this discount. I know first-hand that living with a disability can be expensive so I’m very pleased that we can help our members with something as essential as their weekly grocery shop.”
Daily tasks such as getting dressed, visiting a store, purchasing groceries, and returning home can be time-consuming, costly, and physically exhausting for individuals with disabilities. Through the partnership with Morrisons, the goal is to make life more accessible and affordable for the disabled community.
Scope reports that, on average, households with disabilities require an additional £1,010 per month, which translates to £12,120 annually, to maintain the same standard of living as non-disabled households.
In addition to discounts on Morrisons.com, Purpl members can enjoy exclusive deals on various brands, including Hoover, Sky, Green People, Debenhams, and hundreds more. The platform also provides valuable advice and guidance for individuals living with disabilities.
