Manchester United fans have vented their fury at Alejandro Garnacho after the winger stormed down the tunnel during his team’s 3-2 victory over Ipswich on Wednesday night.

The 20-year-old was hooked by Ruben Amorim after Patrick Dorgu received a straight red card, with Noussair Mazraoui brought on in his place.

Rather than sit with the rest of his team-mates, however, Garnacho opted to storm down the tunnel.

The winger has since taken to social media to share a picture of himself as he trudged off the field, fuelling talk that he’s unhappy.

United were able to claim all three points against Ipswich, with Sam Morsy’s own goal followed by efforts from defenders Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire.

Yet fans on social media have vented their fury over Garnacho’s conduct, with many feeling he should have sat with his team-mates – rather than storming back to the dressing room.

“I’m sorry, but this is UNACCEPTABLE from Garnacho, and it’s even so embarrassing that fans were singing his name,” said one X account.

“Very questionable attitude, and any United fan supporting this can’t be complaining about ‘player power.'”

A second raged: “Sir Alex would never tolerate this.”

Another fumed: “Sell in the summer. Not good enough + has too much ego for someone who hasn’t done anything in the game.”

A fourth fan said: “These players have been given so much power that they don’t even know what discipline is anymore. We are really not ready for a change fr.”

And a fifth added: “He needs a reality check. Horrible attitude especially after getting 3 points smh.”

This isn’t the first time a United player has stormed down the tunnel.

Cristiano Ronaldo infamously did the same during a match against Tottenham back in 2022, when Erik ten Hag was manager.

Their relationship never really recovered, with Ronaldo leaving the club shortly afterwards after accusing Ten Hag of ‘disrespecting’ him.

It’ll now be interested to see how the situation unfolds.

Amorim was asked about Garnacho’s conduct after the match.

He replied: “I’m going to talk, obviously, with Garnacho about that.

“So I will talk about that if you want in the next press conference.”

When asked about Garnacho’s decision to walk down the tunnel, he added: “You are making a connection with Rashford, right?

“It was cold and wet, maybe? The thinking was we’d play more in the 5-3-1.

“I know that is a risk because you are taking one – maybe the only player who has one against one pace – but I felt the team was OK in the controlling of the game, almost half-time, then you make the substitution.

“We have to choose someone to go out, we have to think about set pieces also, so it was Garanacho.”
