Since 2009, Bradley Walsh has been the host of ITV’s The Chase, welcoming a multitude of contestants to take on the Chasers in the hopes of securing a hefty cash prize.
A former contestant by the name of Alexander recently took to social media to spill the beans about what goes on behind the scenes of the popular quiz show. He also offered to satisfy the curiosity of fans by answering any questions they might have.
When quizzed about why contestants always say they’ve had a fantastic day on the show, Alexander pointed out that the atmosphere on set is far more laid-back than one might imagine.
In his post, he revealed: “The crew is super friendly, and it’s surprisingly quite a relaxed environment. You get a lot of time to get to know your team.”
He added: “The studio is well furnished, and you get free tea/coffee all day, which is a nice extra. Going down to London, filming for TV, and meeting someone like Bradley and the Chasers is also a very novel experience.”
Alexander also revealed to fans that the show takes care of the contestants’ expenses, including a £15 meal allowance. He joked that he made a £3 ‘profit’ from his stint on the show as his food expenses only came to £12.

The contestant also lifted the lid on the filming process, revealing that the production crew manages to shoot three episodes each day with remarkable efficiency.
Due to the tight filming schedule, the contestants had limited time to interact with Bradley Walsh, but Alexander confirmed that the TV presenter was just as charming in person.
He revealed: “He [Bradley] was just as nice in real life. What surprised me is that he swore a bit, and they just edited that out. The joking around is pretty much nonstop, and it’s a chill atmosphere.”
