Three Toronto youths have been charged in connection with a carjacking in Scarborough.
Toronto Police allege that on Monday at 12:18 p.m., three youths drove a stolen Honda Civic into a parking lot in the Kennedy and Ellesmere Rds. area, and two wearing masks and armed with a weapon approached the victim and demanded keys to their car.
Cops said the three youth fled the area in the stolen Honda Civic and the victim’s vehicle adding the victim didn’t sustain any injuries.
Officers located the victim’s stolen vehicle and after a short foot pursuit, officers arrested the three youths. The stolen Honda Civic was also recovered.
The male youths, age 14, 15 and 17, face two counts each of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and one count each of robbery with an offensive weapon and disguise with intent.
The 15-year-old also faces fail to comply with release order.
The youths can’t be named per the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
