Travis Kelce has unveiled a dramatic new look, ditching his bushy beard for a cleaner, more groomed appearance.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed his transformation in a teaser for the New Heights podcast released on February 25.

The 35-year-old American footballer can be seen sporting a much shorter, neater beard in the clip shared on X.

This appearance change comes following the Chiefs’ 40-22 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2025 Super Bowl earlier this month.

Kelce’s fresh look has already sparked significant reaction online, with fans taking notice of his clean-shaven appearance.

Kelce’s beard has been a significant part of his image during the NFL season.

In a previous interview with People, the footballer admitted to feeling “the power of [the beard]”.

“I’ve been playing way better since I’ve been growing it,” Kelce stated.

During a podcast episode last February, he told his brother Jason that he hadn’t shaved since before Christmas 2023.

He believed his overgrown facial hair helped improve his game performance.

The beard had become something of a good luck charm for Kelce during the Chiefs’ campaigns.

Unfortunately, his facial hair didn’t bring the same fortune in this year’s Super Bowl defeat.

This appearance change appears to be something of a tradition for Kelce.

Following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory in 2024, he also decided to shave off his beard.

Kelce has experimented with different styles of facial hair throughout his career.

For the 2025 Super Bowl, Kelce sported a bushier beard during the game against the Eagles.

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach revealed that Kelce was “battling a pretty big illness” before the Super Bowl.

Veach made the comment on an upcoming episode of the NFL podcast, The Insiders.

He was careful to note that he wasn’t “making excuses” for the Chiefs’ loss to Philadelphia.

Speculation about Kelce’s NFL future has been circulating since the Super Bowl defeat.

The Chiefs general manager, Brett Veach, addressed retirement rumours, stating: “We anticipate Travis being back. We’re excited to have Travis back.”

“I think that Travis is excited to come back,” Veach added.
