The NHL trade deadline is just around the corner.

And, with that, we know you have some Maple Leafs questions and/or thoughts on your mind.

We’re opening the Toronto Sun’s Leafs mailbag and will provide answers next week before the deadline strikes on March 7 at 3 p.m. ET.

If Leafs general manager Brad Treliving makes good on his desire to add a centre and a defenceman, it’s going to be a busy week as he tries to do everything possible to ensure that the club has a long and successful playoff run.

A year ago, Treliving added defencemen Joel Edmundson and Ilya Lyubushkin, as well as forward Connor Dewar in the days before the deadline. The moves went for naught, as Toronto lost in seven games in the first round around against the Boston Bruins.

A year later, there’s a different feeling with the Leafs, as coach Craig Berube has put a stamp on the team that many figure will make it more prepared for the grind of the Stanley Cup playoffs, and not just for one round.
