A man has been arrested following a search of a property in west Belfast on Wednesday morning.
Police said that a number of items including two imitation firearms, ammunition and electronic items were seized in the search.
The arrest was made by detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch following the search of a property in the Springfield Road/ Falls Road area.
The PSNI confirmed the search and arrest are in connection with the ongoing investigation into criminality linked to the New IRA. The man aged 62 has been taken to Musgrave Custody Suite for questioning.
The Belfast Telegraph understands that the search and arrest are not being linked to the attempted murder of a man in the Bell Street Manor area of west Belfast on Sunday.
