More filming is taking place in Bristol this week. According to signage around Portland Square and information on a local Bristol filming X account, Urban Myth Films is set to continue filming the second season of a TV spin-off of the ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ films.

BristolLive reported earlier this month that preparation for filming of the series, which is set to be released on Amazon Prime was spotted in the city centre. Film crews were seen preparing a shoot for the second season of ‘Paris Has Fallen’ in Unity Street and Denmark Street on the morning of February 11. Though it’s not yet known if it will be set in Paris or a new location.

And today (Tuesday, February 25) signage and more equipment has been spotted at the Portland Square location, with pictures showing fencing, a green cherry picker, and people in high-vis jackets. A road closure sign details that the road and footpath will be closed between 1pm and 11.59pm from February 26 (Wednesday) until Friday, February 28, while filming takes place.

The TV series is a spin-off to the movie trilogy which was released between 2013 and 2019, and consisted of Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen. The movies starred Gerard Butler and Morgan Freeman among others.

The second season of the TV show follows on from the first season, titled Paris Has Fallen. Few details have been released about the plot or cast for the second season, but what has been confirmed is that the second season will pivot back to the films more closely, which has caused speculation that Mr Butler could make a cameo. The first season lasted eight episodes and was released in November. It starred Tewfik Jallab, Ritu Arya and Sean Harris.

It comes as Ruth Wilson and Emma Thompson have also been spotted filming in Bristol. The filming is for Down Cemetery Road, a series developed for Apple TV+ which has been filming in Bristol since June.
