Northern Ireland wing-back Conor Bradley is set for a “few weeks” on the sidelines according to club manager Arne Slot after picking up a muscle injury in last week’s draw with Aston Villa.
The right-back was withdrawn in the second half of their 2-2 draw at Villa Park after he himself came on as a substitute and is now set for a lengthy spell out.
Slot had initially said that Bradley would miss Liverpool’s games against Newcastle United and Manchester City but the Dutch manager has now confirmed that the former Dungannon Swifts man won’t be back any time soon.
“Conor doesn’t (train with us), he will be out for a few weeks. I cannot tell exactly how many but it was clear he went off with a muscle injury. That’s going to take a while before he is back,” said Slot.
It has already been a frustrating season for Bradley, who missed 11 matches after straining his hamstring against Real Madrid in November, and this latest injury also makes him a risk for Northern Ireland’s friendly double-header next month.
Northern Ireland welcome Switzerland to Windsor Park on Friday March 21 before heading to Stockholm to take on the Swedish side on Tuesday March 25.
If the right-back was to be absent, Northern Ireland manager Michael O’Neill would likely turn to one of Trai Hume, Ruairi McConville or Brodie Spencer for next month’s ties.
