Sarah Ferguson is set to join ITV’s Loose Women as a regular presenter, with producers planning a full trial week following her successful guest appearances.
The Duchess of York, 65, is in discussions to become part of the show’s rotating roster of 15 high-profile presenters and panellists.
The move marks a significant step towards realising her long-held television presenting ambitions, which began after her appearance on Jay Leno’s US talk show in 1996.
A source revealed: “Sarah has been told there will be a chair with her name on it whenever she is ready to become a full-time Loose Woman.”

The role could prove financially beneficial for the Duchess, with lead presenters on Loose Women earning approximately £3,000 per show.
Ferguson currently resides at Royal Lodge in Windsor with her ex-husband Prince Andrew, who faces pressure from the King regarding the property’s £400,000 annual maintenance costs.
“Sarah is finding a way to balance a potentially well-paid presenting job with her charity commitments and her main job as an author,” a source told reporters.
The position would offer more stability than guest panellist spots, which typically pay around £1,400 per appearance.

Beyond her presenting role, Ferguson has developed a close bond with fellow Loose Women presenter Sally Dynevor, with the pair connecting over their shared breast cancer experiences.
The potential appointment has already received support from current show host Katie Piper, who spoke positively about Ferguson’s previous appearances.
“We’d be excited if she did [come back]. She was quite popular,” Piper said.
“The team had fun with her and she sent everyone a posh present – wellness body lotions and creams and a nice book and chocolates,” Piper added.
