Rylan Clark has apologised to celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay after confessing that he smuggled an item out of his restaurant this weekend.

Speaking on his weekly BBC Radio 2 show, Rylan on Saturday, the 36-year-old revealed: “I’ve got to apologise to Gordon Ramsay. I stole something out of his restaurant last night.”

He went on to recount how it wasn’t the first time he’d taken something from the popular King Street eatery, Lucky Cat.

“Every time I’ve gone there, and I’ve always been open and honest about this. He rests the chopsticks on like little golden cats, they’re gorgeous, I’ve stolen them before, that’s what you do.”

However, during a recent visit, another item caught his eye in the bathroom.

“Well, I went to the bathroom and they had ones that where about this big, about two foot tall,” he continued.

In an unexpected twist, the former X-Factor star disclosed that the two-foot decorative cat was actually gifted to him by Gordon’s daughter, Holly.

After taking it home, he declared that he has no plans to return it.

It seems Rylan isn’t the only one who has developed a fondness for the small cat figures.

During his visit to the Jonathan Ross Show, the host surprised Gordon by admitting he did the same thing, and even pulled out one of the miniature figurines from his pocket on the show.

“I genuinely thought you were allowed to take them home,” he told the chef.

Rylan made the revelation upon returning to his radio show this week, following a recent illness.

Stepping in for the presenter, Richie Anderson jokingly insisted Rylan may have been lying about being sick.

He said: “The reason I’m in is because Rylan’s got the sniffles, apparently. However, our listeners disagree because he’s been spotted a lot out and about this week.”

Rylan didn’t miss the chance to respond playfully on Instagram, where he called out the cheeky “lies” and expressed gratitude for the well wishes received.
