The Chase launched on ITV screens back in 2009 and has very much been a mid-evening staple ever since it landed on the networks schedule more than 15 years ago.

However, the fan-favourite is about to undergo a huge shake-up with questions being rejigged for the first time in the programme’s history.

Bradley Walsh’s famous quiz show will be re-imaged for a special episode, with bosses looking to spice things up a bit and offering a fans a one off instalment that compliments the Oscars, which will take place next weekend.

Contestants will be tested on their general knowledge while paying homage to the glitzy red-carpet event, and according to reports, one Chaser has already been brushing up on past content.

Speaking about plans to overhaul to the normal show, an insider revealed to The Sun: “ITV are going big on the Oscars again this year and getting The Chase crew involved.

“Starting with the contestants – who are named after nominated hopefuls Demi Moore, Karla Sofía Gascón, Timothée Chalamet and Adrien Brody.”

They went on to add: “They’ll be up against Shaun Wallace, aka The Dark Destroyer, who has been brushing up on his Oscars knowledge.”

Meanwhile, The Chase shake-up isn’t the only thing about the show that has commanded attention in recent times, with long-standing host Bradley’s future plans also being held in the frame.

Bradley, 64, has been with the ITV programme since its birth and has even been responsible for a naming a number of the Chasers on the quiz show.

The TV veteran revealed plans to host a brand new show, Bradley Walsh: Egypt’s Cosmic Code, that will see the host like “never before” as he takes off on a trip of a lifetime to witness Ancient Egypt in all its glory.

After his new TV adventure was unveiled, there was speculation about Bradley’s time on The Chase possibly coming to an end however, he’s insisted he has zero plans to depart.

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1, from 5pm.
