Alesha Dixon has shared her top tip for maintaining good health. It’s a simple daily routine that anyone can follow. She “swears by” it to prevent feeling tired and fight off illnesses.
The ITV Britain’s Got Talent judge, who is set to grace our screens once again tonight (February 22), said she starts her day with a particular routine that she claims is her “healthiest habit”. In an article by Women’s Health, Alesha proudly shared her commitment to juicing.
She describes her morning ritual of blending “a whole bag” of kale with ginger and lime. Alongside some supplements and exercise, she added: “In the evening, if I want to eat my chocolate fingers with a glass of red wine, it comes with no guilt.”
While the BGT star didn’t delve into the specifics of her green drink recipe, a quick price check reveals that a bag of shredded kale is 75p at Aldi, three ginger roots are 95p, and limes are 24p each – so her nutritious beverage should cost just under £2 to make yourself.
Various online recipes suggest adding other health-boosting ingredients like apple, cucumber, celery, and spinach to ‘green juice’. There’s no strict guideline on how many nutritious items you can blend into your juice—it’s all down to what you prefer, reports the Mirror.

Kale, the staple of Alesha’s go-to daily drink, is brimming with nutrients, including potassium, fibre, folate and calcium, all contributing to overall wellbeing. The leafy veg is packed with vitamins C and E, selenium and beta-carotene, all of which can bolster your immunity against illnesses.
The high vitamin C content also aids in collagen production, making kale a fantastic natural alternative to supplements. Our bodies naturally start to slow down collagen production as people approach their thirties, so anyone in that age range might want to consider doing what they can to top up those levels.
Ginger, on the other hand, can boost energy levels by improving blood circulation and stabilising blood sugar levels. It also boasts anti-inflammatory properties and is rich in antioxidants, helping to combat free radicals that can damage cells.

Limes, too, are great for boosting energy as they’re loaded with vitamin C. This vitamin helps with nutrient absorption and supports a healthy immune system, enhancing your overall energy levels.
Lime water can keep you hydrated, and staying hydrated is crucial for maintaining good energy throughout the day. However, before you follow Alesha’s lead, it’s important to note that juicing removes fibre from fruits and vegetables.
So, consider where else you can get this essential nutrient in your diet. The NHS recommends a daily intake of 30g of fibre to help prevent health problems like heart disease, strokes, type 2 diabetes and bowel cancer.
If you’re considering making significant changes to your lifestyle or diet, it might be worth consulting a doctor or dietician. They can advise you on achieving the right balance and how it might interact with any medications you’re currently taking.
