A veterans’ charity is on the brink of closing unless they can raise £12,800 by the end of today.
Earlier this week, The Spearhead Foundation learned that the funding that covers the cost of their premises had been cut.
As a result, they had till the end of today to raise £12,800 in order to save the charity.
Since launching in 2018, the foundation has worked with hundreds of our veterans – both current and former members of the armed forces or emergency services.

Sometimes, the charity provides an opportunity for people to meet new people and settle back into civilian life; other times, it quite literally saves lives.
GB News spoke to one of those veterans – Garrie Stockley – who said that, without The Spearhead Foundation, he would most likely be dead.
He was discharged from the Royal Navy in 2002 following a mental breakdown and two attempts to take his own life.
He recalled that, at the time, he “didn’t receive any medical assistance at all” and instead, he was forced to rely on the NHS.
However, when he connected with the foundation in 2023, things changed. He said: “The Spearhead Foundation… they listened.

“You see, people just think ‘Oh right, yeah, you should just get over it, you should just deal with it’, but it’s so difficult to deal with it sometimes I think.”
The charity also works with current members of the armed forces, including Staff Sergeant, David Murphy.
He’s presently serving in the British Army, but also volunteers for the charity.
He described the service as a place “that brings comfort” to our veterans, and that allows them to feel at ease amongst people who have experienced the same types of things as them.
The foundation itself was launched almost seven years ago now, by former member of the armed forces – Craig Monaghan.

He described coming out of the Army and feeling alone with no support.
He said that’s what pushed him to launch The Spearhead Foundation; to make sure other veterans don’t have the same experience as him.
Explaining what happens to donations, he said: “When you donate to The Spearhead Foundation, you’re not funding some CEO on big money; you’re not funding staff… you’re actually funding to keep veterans and emergency workers alive.”
