Thursday is off to a rainy start, some heavy at times, with some brighter spells breaking through later in the afternoon. Temperatures are milder than recent days with highs of 12°C. Tonight will remain dry with outbreaks of heavy rain pushing in from the south late in the night. A yellow weather warning is in place for strong winds on Friday morning between 6am and 10am. Some areas could see wind speed of up to 65mph. The alert is focused on counties Antrim, Armagh and Down. The Met Office said the strong and gusty southerly winds could cause disruption to transport and infrastructure, with delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport considered likely. The public has been advised to check road updates or public transport timetables before leaving the house. Short-term loss of power is also possible.
