TV chef Gordon Ramsay has opened up on how he feels about his future son-in-law, Olympic swimmer Adam Peaty.
Peaty, 30, announced his engagement to Holly Ramsay, 25, last year. Her dad, notoriously opinionated Ramsay, has reflected on his true feelings about the relationship.
In an interview set to air on The Jonathan Ross Show this weekend, Ramsay is asked about the engagement.
He seemed full of praise for his future son-in-law, commenting: “It’s going to be a Christmas wedding and they’re looking at areas and venues and lots of planning.”
Presenter Ross, 64, asked Ramsay is Peaty talked to him before proposing to his daughter, with the chef responding: “Not really permission, but he’s a very nice guy.
“He’s so down to earth and so focused and disciplined. He sat us down in Cornwall.

“He said, ‘Holly is just the perfect woman. I’d like to get your blessing – from you and Tana for her hand in marriage.'”
Continuing, the TV cook carried on singing Peaty’s praises as he added: “It was that sort of amazing moment.
“Everything went quiet. As a future son-in-law, we couldn’t ask for anyone better.”
Reflecting on his wedding speech, Ramsay joked: “It’s going to be something short and simple – don’t f*** this up!”

However, he concluded: “He’s so grounded. Those two get on so well. It’s a blessing.”
The restaurateur also admitted it gets “competitive” between himself, Peaty and Holly’s twin, Jack, when they go swimming.
Holly and Peaty had been dating for three years before the swimmer popped the question in September.
In sweet social media posts at the time, the Olympian praised his fiancée for sticking by him through his “lowest times” after his battle with alcoholism and mental health.
He also expressed his gratitude for Holly having embraced the “incredible community” he has found with Christianity, stating she joined his church “without question”.
Touching on Holly’s family, he added in the lengthy post: “Your family have always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust.
