A 35-year-old former teaching assistant is accused of sexual assaulting a child in Brampton during the 2017-18 school year.
Peel Regional Police say an investigation began in January 2025 following allegations from a concerned parent who claimed that a child was sexually assaulted within the school.
The incident allegedly occurred at a public school in the area of Main and Queen Sts.
A suspect was subsequently identified and arrested on Feb. 6.
Sundeep Vilkhu is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.

While the accused is no longer employed by the school board, investigators are concerned about the possibility of other alleged victims and are appealing anyone with information to come forward.
