People have praised a teacher for her brilliant response to a nasty online troll who labelled her “fake”.

Being a teacher is one of the most fulfilling roles out there, offering the chance to see students flourish and knowing you’ve contributed to their growth both personally and academically. However, it’s not without its trials, from handling student behaviour to dealing with parents and juggling work-life balance.

One American educator, whose dedication to her profession extends beyond school hours, has become an internet hit. Miss Jenny regularly posts photos of herself en route to work or in her classroom, always accompanied by uplifting messages or innovative ideas to support kids’ education on X.

Parents are huge fans of the mum and primary school teacher, showering her with words of appreciation and thank-you notes online. But occasionally, she also faces unpleasant remarks. In a recent incident, Jenny had the perfect retort to a rude commenter who said: “the fakest teacher I’ve seen on here [X]”.

This came after Jenny posted on X last April, introducing herself with the words: “I’m a 3rd grade teacher in Idaho! I love math and being with children. Teaching is the hardest, yet most rewarding job ever!” She also expressed gratitude to those who supported her Amazon wish list for classroom essentials, as well as gift cards for personal use.

Despite the overwhelming support for Jenny, one particularly nasty troll commented: “You are the fakest teacher I’ve seen on here. Fake hair, fake eyelashes, lip filler. You probably go and f*** your dad every night because he is the only one that would love someone as fake as you. Are you really a teacher? Or is that just a line to get people to buy stuff off Amazon.”

Jenny was quick to respond to this individual, stating: “Well ‘Greg’, no fake eyelashes, lip filler, or hair. I’m an actual teacher and can’t afford that stuff. My dad passed away five years ago, so there’s that.”

She continued: “Thanks for reminding me how words play an important part in this life. I’ll remember to be kind. I hope you find a smile today somewhere.”

Many people rushed to comment in support of Jenny, with one saying: “Class act. We need more teachers like you.”

Another added: “Thank you Jenny. You’re clearly an incredible person and dedicated in service to others. Your father is so proud! The way you handled “miserable” Greg was astounding. Pure class(pun intended).”

A further supporter wrote: “So sorry this happened to you, Jenny. That’s completely unacceptable and no one deserves to be treated that way. Please keep in mind that those words do not define your worth. You are strong, loved and deserving of kindness. Sending you lots of love, support and positive vibes.”

One fellow teacher expressed solidarity, writing: “From one teacher to another. Teachers are superstars in general going above and beyond for their students.”
