Jed Ward – 6

The Bristol Rovers stopper produced a smart save to turn a dangerous cross from Dan Harvie over the bar early on. Could do little to prevent both goals as his defence left him with too much to do.

Joel Senior – 6

Had his hands fall up against the lively Beryly Lubala and the energetic Dan Harvie who both got the better of him early on. Did improve as the first half wore on however and even managed to get into some good positions in possession, even if he couldn’t carve out that moment of quality. Did what he could in tough circumstances second half.

James Wilson – 7

Wilson, like the rest of the backline, had plenty of work to get through in the opening 45 minutes but went about it well. His intervention kept things level in the early goalmouth scramble when it looked like the home side would certainly take the lead. Couldn’t really be blamed for either second-half goal.

Connor Taylor – 6

The 23-year-old was great in the first half as he seemingly had an answer to everything that Wycombe threw at him both in the air and on the ground. Perhaps should have got more on the opening goal as it seemingly trickled under his boot and into the bottom corner.

Lino Sousa – 6

Against the tricky Fred Onyedinma, Sousa was always going to have to be on his toes and in the opening 45 minutes he was exactly that. Marshalled the Wycombe winger well to really limit his involvement in the final third. Got into some good areas in the second half without having that final moment of quality.

James Lindsay (off for Michael Reindorf, 62) – 5

It wasn’t a game for the midfielders with both teams more than willing to knock the ball long and that limited Linday’s impact on the game. The 29-year-old didn’t do enough to win the ball back in the middle of the park before being replaced early in the first half.

Isaac Hutchinson (off for Kofi Shaw, 78′) – 5

Like his midfield partner, struggled to have any real influence on proceedings in either half. His evening was perhaps summed up with his last real involvement when he swung a corner to the back post where no one was there to head home.

Ruel Sotiriou (off for Shaq Forde, 76′) – 5

The Cyrpiat attacking midfielder struggled to have a major impact on the game as so much of the play in possession passed him by. When he did, he tended to keep things simple without managing to carve out that moment of much-needed quality.

Luke Thomas (off for Taylor Moore, 46) – 5

Was fortunate that he wasn’t punished in the first half when he was dispossessed on the edge of his own penalty area but did also create the Gas’ only real chance in the opening 45 minutes. Maybe could have done more to help Senior in the first half before he was replaced.

Scott Sinclair (off for Sil Swinkels, 46) – 6

Could have and maybe should have put the Gas ahead when he got a head to Luke Thomas’ scuffed shot in the first half but couldn’t beat the goalkeeper. Kept things really neat and tidy in possession and worked hard off the ball.

Chris Martin – 6

The Gas forward didn’t see an awful lot of the ball in the first half as he struggled to get too much change out of the physically imposing Wycombe backline. When he did get into some space, he played some smart passes to link up play but didn’t get any help from the officials.

Substitutes:

Taylor Moore – 5

Gave the ball away with a needless flick in the lead-up to the home side’s opener as he was introduced in the middle of the park. Didn’t have the desired impact.

Sil Swinkels – 5

Had to do more for the home side’s opener as he got his clearance wrong and let the ball bounce right into the path of Dan Udoh who didn’t need an invitation to shoot.

Michael Reindorf – 6

Shaq Forde – 4

Was given his marching orders only a matter of minutes after being introduced for a really, really poor challenge on Luke Leahy. Only managed a four as the game was already lost when he was sent-off.

Kofi Shaw – 6
