There’s nothing quite like indulging in a chocolatey delight when you’re craving something sweet, and these viral Nutella pies are causing quite the stir among chocolate enthusiasts – and all you need is just three ingredients.

Typically, many of us might find it easier to simply purchase pre-made pastries and cakes from supermarkets as it saves the trouble of buying a multitude of ingredients and having to follow lengthy recipe instructions.

However, homemade always has that extra special taste. If you’re not particularly confident in the kitchen or you’re after a straightforward recipe, these easy-to-make treats are ideal for the whole family and require minimal effort.

All you need is eggs, white bread, and a jar of Nutella – or another brand of chocolate spread. According to its website, Nutella is made up of seven ingredients – sugar, palm oil, hazelnuts, milk, cocoa, lecithin and vanillin.

Eloise Head, a popular online cook and baking enthusiast better known as @fitwaffle, garnered 3.2 million views after sharing her delicious chocolate pies. She began by removing the crusts from several slices of white bread.

Then she pressed down the centre of the bread, before filling it with Nutella. Next, she whisked one egg and one teaspoon of milk in a small bowl, before brushing it on the edges of the bread.

Eloise prepared three pies, so you may need more egg wash if you want to prepare more. Next, she folded the bread in half to create a small parcel. Using a fork, she pressed down the edges to form an attractive pattern.

Eloise then used the remaining egg wash to brush over the top of the parcels. The final step was to place them in an air fryer for five minutes at 180C, until they turned golden and crispy.

If you decide to give these a go, serve them on a plate and drizzle chocolate spread over the top. For an extra touch of elegance, sprinkle some icing sugar on top.

Eloise described them as “delicious” and suggested that Lotus Biscoff would be a fantastic alternative filling for your chocolate pies. Would you give these a try?
