Travelling by air can come with its fair share of discomforts: cramped conditions, especially when boxed into the middle seat, limited legroom, and the yearning to just arrive at your destination.
The experience can turn sour due to fellow passengers who encroach on your personal space, either by spreading their legs too far or nudging you with their elbows. However, one man encountered something intolerably offensive on a flight and felt compelled to intervene with the gross behaviour.
Cam Casey, a digital content creator, recounted how a female passenger got what he termed “instant karma on the airplane” for her unpleasant behaviour, which he described as “nasty”.
The woman had stretched her legs out while wearing flip-flops, inadvertently tucking her bare toes beneath his seat – a sight particularly disturbing for anyone who detests feet.
Taking matters into his own hands, he slowly tilted the reusable water bottle he was holding, unleashing a significant gush of water directly onto her unprotected feet. The video captures the final moment of her alarmed reaction, including an audible gasp as she hastily withdrew her feet from under his seat.
In reaction to the video’s comments section, individuals offered up alternative actions that would have potentially intensified the shock factor. One commenter humorously suggested, “warm water or coffee would’ve been better,” while another chimed in with a preference for “a nice sticky soda”.
Another shared a strategy they’d consider: “I would have fake sneezed on their toes with just a sprinkle of water. That would have been way more impactful”.
Cam responded to his own clever suggestion with a trophy emoji, indicating his pride in the idea. However, some participants in the discussion said they would have been tempted to “accidentally step on her toes” had they encountered such behaviour.
Yet, there were those who defended the woman in question, suggesting she might not have extended her feet on purpose.
One considerate user commented: “Isn’t it possible she fell asleep and didn’t realise her feet moved or that she was beyond the chair edge? People are so extra”.
Another woman expressed her concerns about potentially finding herself in a similar predicament: “I was going to comment something, but I am a tall girl, so I fear getting in this situation,” accompanied by a sad face emoji.
