Sam Thompson, the Made in Chelsea star, has shared a poignant update on his personal life, revealing that he now engages in a particular activity at home by himself.

Speaking on his Staying Relevant podcast, which he co-hosts with his good friend and fellow reality TV star, Pete Wicks, the 32-year-old opened up about the changes to his routine following his break up with ex-girlfriend Zara McDermott, known for her time on Love Island.

In a conversation harking back to the days when Sam would share his thoughts on social media as he watched Love Island with Zara, Pete queried whether he still watches the show as much as before. To this, Sam admitted: “I don’t have anyone to do those updates with anymore mate. I just sit on the sofa on my own now and watch it.”

The end of Sam and Zara’s relationship has been hinted at on their podcast through subtle references before, and though the split has been much speculated on in the media since early this year, neither party had officially confirmed their split. Nonetheless, the I’m A Celeb winner hinted at the separation last month.

In a discussion initiated by Pete with the question “What’s been going on?”, Sam confided: “It was tough. It’s been a tough month. A real tough month.”

The reality star’s relationship first began back in 2019 when the former Made in Chelsea star reportedly messaged Zara on Instagram.

Sam has been a familiar face on our televisions for the past decade, first stepping into the broadcasting scene in 2013 with a role on the popular Channel 4 series, Made in Chelsea. Since then, he’s made quite a name for himself in reality TV, featuring in shows such as Celebrity Big Brother and Celebs Go Dating, and even clinching the title of I’m A Celebrity winner in 2023, when he pipped Tony Bellew, reports Lancs Live.

More recently, he’s ventured into presenting, landing a variety of radio and TV gigs including I’m a Celebrity… Unpacked, Love Island: The Morning After podcast, and hosting a show on Hits Radio every Sunday.
