BBC Breakfast’s live broadcast was briefly disrupted by an unexpected technical hitch, causing a moment of confusion for hosts Jon Kay and Sarah Campbell.
As they attempted to transition to Morning Live, presented by Gethin Jones and Rav Wilding, the latter pair failed to appear on screen, despite their audio coming through clearly.
Sarah initially introduced her co-stars, saying: “Now Morning Live follows Breakfast on BBC One, so shall we pop along and see what they’ve got in store.”
However, upon realising that Gethin and Rav were not visible, she added: “Rav, Gethin, morning,” which was met with no visual response, despite their conversation being audible.
The BBC Breakfast hosting duo exchanged awkward glances, with Jon stating: “I can hear them,” and Sarah agreeing: “So can I.” Jon tried again, saying: “Rav, Gethin, morning.”

Eventually the pair did appear on screen to discuss their upcoming segment. Although Gethin seemed nervous about the earlier technical glitch and quipped: “Do you know what would have been really lovely is telling us we were live.”
Rav intervened: “We’re going to keep the compliments going,” reports the Express. Gethin then asked Jon and Sarah: “Did we get away with that guys?”

Sarah replied with good humour: “Yeah, thanks for turning up guys,” prompting laughter in both studios. Gethin chimed in with: “That’s a good start,” to which Jon quickly added his quip, remarking: “That’s what happens when it’s only the blokes at Morning Live.”
Rav and his on-screen partner couldn’t help but chuckle as they concurred: “Quite right.” The friendly jostling over the technical mishap rolled on as Sarah kicked off a new segment with another gag.

With a bright smile, she announced: “It’s time to get the news, the travel and the weather where you are…” then playfully tacked on: ” Well hopefully.”
Currently, Sarah is at the helm, covering for regular weekday presenter Sally Nugent, who was noticeably absent from her role on Monday’s show (February 17). Though her absence went unremarked during the broadcast, considering it’s half term, she may well be enjoying some precious downtime with her family.
Family time is especially close to Sally’s heart, as she has one son whom she co-parents with ex-husband Gavin Hawthorn. The two parted ways in 2023 after a 13-year marriage.
Sally is known for keeping details of her personal and family life away from the public eye.
BBC Breakfast airs every day on BBC One from 6am.
