Seven out of ten parents said they struggle to balance playtime, family time, and healthy snacks while dealing with busy schedules and picky eating habits.

One-third of parents worry their kids aren’t spending enough time outdoors in nature. Other concerns include making sure their children eat enough fruits and vegetables and giving them enough personal attention.

More than a third of parents say they frequently feel “parent guilt,” with 40 per cent admitting they can be too lenient. The most common examples include letting kids have extra screen time, staying up past bedtime, and eating sweets on outings.

The survey, conducted by GoGo squeeZ, a popular children’s snack brand, found that despite these challenges, 59 per cent of parents believe that spending quality time together is the most important part of raising happy, well-rounded kids.

Other key priorities include good nutrition, sharing fun and laughter, and getting outside.

In response to these findings, GoGo squeeZ has released its “squeeZ the Day” report, focusing on three main areas: Good Nutrition, Quality Time, and Outdoor Adventures.

The goal is to help parents build healthier habits for their kids, supporting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

“We believe the right food is key to helping kids thrive,” said a GoGo squeeZ spokesperson. “Finding snacks that kids enjoy and that are good for them might seem small, but it’s an important step in helping them grow and develop.”

The company worked with experts to create practical tips to make it easier for families to choose healthier options for their kids.

TV personality Billie Shepherd, a mum of three who contributed to the report, shared how it helped her and her husband, Greg, feel more confident as parents.

“With both of us working, it’s hard to juggle everything,” said Billie. “Sometimes, I feel like I’m not doing enough. But it’s not about being perfect—it’s about making small, realistic changes that really make a difference.”

The survey also found that nearly one in five parents want to cut back on the number of processed treats their children eat, and a third wish their kids had a more balanced diet.

Many parents see it as a small win when their kids choose healthier options.

Dr. Zoe Williams, a nutrition expert involved in the report, explained, “Nutritious snacks are essential for children’s energy, focus, and overall well-being.

“Choosing snacks made with natural ingredients, rich in vitamins and minerals, can help kids stay fuelled throughout the day. It’s all about making better choices while keeping things simple and convenient in our busy lives.”
