A popular South Bristol takeaway, which has been running for over 30 years, has reopened under new owners. Alwaha, on Wells Road in Totterdown, first opened in Bristol in 1991.
In August 2024, it announced it was closing under its original ownership. Khalid, Alwaha’s founder, had announced his retirement from the company earlier in the year.
Alwaha shared a post on Facebook, asking for people with potential ‘business interest’ in the takeaway to come and visit. This month, it announced it would reopen, thanking its ‘wonderful customers’.
In a post on the Alwaha Facebook page, the team wrote “Hi wanted to let all our wonderful customers know Alwaha will be re-opening on Monday 3rd February.
“Thank you all so much for your understanding in waiting for us to re-open,”
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone, Many thanks from all the team at Alwaha.”
Alwaha serves a range of ‘unique food’, made fresh every day, on Wells Road in Totterdown.
