A heated exchange erupted on GB News as political commentator Clare Muldoon claimed the Ukraine war is a “complete sham” and a Biden proxy war.
The controversial remarks came during a debate with fellow commentator Matthew Stadlen, who immediately branded her comments “outrageous”.
Muldoon suggested Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was “running scared” and had vested interests in prolonging the conflict.
“Goodness knows what he is doing with it,” Muldoon said, referring to international aid sent to Ukraine.

Muldoon expressed concern about the impact on Ukrainian soldiers, stating the war would leave “young, Ukrainian men disenfranchised” who would become “the real threat”.
She claimed Putin was “sitting at his desk averse to risk”, suggesting the Russian leader was not the primary aggressor in the conflict.

Her comments came amid ongoing discussions about the war’s future, with US Vice President JD Vance meeting Zelensky at the Munich Security Conference to discuss potential peace negotiations.
Stadlen launched a fierce defence of the Ukrainian president, highlighting his courage during the initial invasion.
“Zelensky is a man who was so brave he stuck around in Kyiv when Putin’s forces were invading his country,” Stadlen argued.
He dismissed Muldoon’s claims about Zelensky wanting to prolong the conflict as “absurd”.

The Ukraine war was a point of contention on GB News

“If you seriously think he wants the war to continue with his fellow countrymen and women bleeding and his own life under threat, that is just absurd,” he said.
The debate comes as Zelensky met with US Vice President JD Vance in Munich, where he emphasised Ukraine’s need for “security guarantees” before any talks with Putin.
Yulia Navalnaya, widow of Russian dissident Alexei Navalny, warned at the conference there is “no point trying to negotiate” with Putin.
Zelensky also stressed in a recent NBC interview that Ukraine has a “low chance to survive without support of the United States”.
French President Emmanuel Macron insisted that “Ukrainians alone” can drive peace discussions with Russia.
Muldoon defended Trump’s stance on NATO, saying he was “underpinning his position” by demanding other nations increase their financial contributions.
She argued this was necessary to “develop the shield we all need to live in a safe environment”.
The exchange highlighted broader tensions over US policy, with Stadlen pointing out apparent contradictions in the Trump administration’s approach.
“JD Vance said explicitly he is more concerned about a threat from within than he is from China or Russia. At the same time, his boss, Donald Trump, wants us to double our defence spend. It makes no sense,” Stadlen said.
