The Masked Singer is on the brink of unveiling its 2025 champion, but it seems that the identity of one contestant may have been discovered prematurely.

Dressed Crab, Pufferfish and Wolf are the remaining competitors, having impressed judges Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama, Davina McCall and Jonathan Ross over the past seven weeks.

As the grand finale of the current sixth season is set for tonight, all three remaining contestants will be unmasked in the climactic conclusion of this zany ITV family show.

However, fans believe they’ve cracked the case of Wolf’s identity ahead of the final episode. They’ve pieced together clues from the 2025 season to deduce who might be beneath the furry disguise.

Wolf has already showcased their vocal talents five times this season, performing a variety of songs including David Bowie’s ‘Let’s Dance’, Sammy Davis Jr. ‘s ‘The Candy Man’, and Crowded House’s ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’.

Given the song choices and the distinctive singing voice that shines through despite the costume, many viewers are convinced that Wet Wet Wet frontman Marti Pellow is the man behind the mask. This theory has gained traction on social media, with many fans considering it airtight, reports the Mirror.

Masked Singer enthusiasts have been expressing their hunches about the identity of the elusive Wolf. One observant fan observed on social media: “Who else had a song called Angel Eyes…Wet Wet Wet. Wolf is Marti Pellow. He hardly disguised his voice tonight.”

Another frustrated viewer shared: “I’ve said it’s Marti Pellow since I heard the first few lines sung weeks ago. Never once been mentioned by the panel, then tonight when Maya said Angel Eyes I thought at last. Then she said ABBA, I give up.”

Echoing the sentiment, another added: “WOLF IS DEFFO MARTI PELLOW! Can hear it clear as day, this panel must be deaf.”

Marti Pellow is best known as the original lead singer and founding member of the group Wet Wet Wet, famous for hits such as Goodnight Girl and Love Is All Around. He parted ways with the band in 2017 and has also made a name for himself as a solo artist.

With the Masked Singer finale slated for broadcast on Saturday night at 7pm, viewers are eagerly awaiting to see if their guess about the Wolf’s true identity pans out.

Past episodes of the current season have unveiled an array of celebrities, from the shockingly unexpected to the downright legendary. Mo Farah was the first to be revealed as the face behind Giant Joel, followed by television presenter Kate Garraway who was hiding beneath the Spag Bol costume.

Former Great British Bake Off personalities Prue Leith and Mel Giedroyc were found under the costumes of Pegasus and Teeth respectively, while other notable unveilings include Andrea Corr of The Corrs, rapper Example, singer Carol Decker, multimedia artist Grayson Perry, and EastEnders actress Natalie Cassidy.

Week three of the show saw a dramatic turn of events when chart-topping star Macy Gray was unveiled as the performer beneath the Toad in the Hole costume, following her rendition of Roxette’s ‘It Must Have Been Love’. However, Gray didn’t take her elimination lightly.

She initially stormed off the set after losing the singing contest, only to return later to reveal her identity.

The Masked Singer final airs tonight at 7pm on ITV.
