Former world snooker champion Steve Davis is set to take on one of his riskiest challenges yet—walking barefoot over hot coals. The six-time world champion, known for his cool composure on the snooker table, will brave the fiery test on Saturday, February 15, at Hedger’s Cider Barn in Redhill to raise funds for the Feline Fine Foundation.

The event marks the birthday of the charity’s founder, Lucinda Pullen, and aims to support cat owners in crisis across Bristol, North Somerset, and South Gloucestershire. Davis, who has been a patron of the charity since last year, joins other firewalkers to raise awareness and funds for the foundation’s work.

“It costs an average of £50 per month to look after each cat in foster care,” the charity stated. “We aim to raise more than £5,000 from this event to support even more cats fleeing crisis in the months ahead.”

Feline Fine Foundation provides temporary foster care for cats whose owners face challenges such as homelessness, hospitalisation, rehabilitation, and domestic abuse. Once the crisis has passed, owners can be reunited with their beloved pets, offering a vital lifeline in difficult times.

Participants can join the firewalk by paying a £50 entry fee or £30 with a pledge to raise £150. Donations and fundraising profiles can be set up at by clicking here.

Founded in December 2022 and achieving charity status in October 2023 (Charity No. 1205451), Feline Fine Foundation has already supported over 300 cats and their owners. Run entirely by volunteers, the organisation offers advice, a cat food bank, and temporary foster placements to help keep cats and owners together for as long as possible.
