Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder was rushed for medical treatment after suffering an emergency during a performance on Thursday evening.

The 77-year-old musician was playing the band’s hit song Tequila Sunrise aboard the Rock Legends cruise when he abruptly stopped performing.

The incident occurred during the cruise journey between Miami and CocoCay in the Bahamas.

Felder, who served as the Eagles’ lead guitarist from 1974 to 2001, appeared visibly unsteady on his feet during the performance, The Mirror reports.

Concerned crew members quickly came to his aid after he stopped strumming and began staring offstage.

The veteran rocker was promptly escorted from the stage as supportive crowd members shouted encouragement.

A crew member rushed to support Felder as he attempted to speak into the microphone, with footage showing him swaying whilst on stage.

Video captured by an audience member showed the musician discussing the origins of Tequila Sunrise before his performance began to trail off.

The concerning incident was documented in footage posted to YouTube by a fan account called Travel The World, who was present at the event.

Fellow performers and stage crew acted swiftly to assist the guitarist as the situation unfolded before the shocked audience.

The crowd maintained a supportive atmosphere throughout the emergency, continuing to voice their encouragement as Felder was led away from the stage.

Felder’s team issued a statement on Friday addressing the incident and confirming his condition.

“After receiving medical attention, he was deemed to be suffering from dehydration”, the statement read.

The team confirmed he was given fluids and is now “feeling much better”.

Due to the incident, organisers are working to reschedule today’s shows and adjust the remainder of the cruise schedule.

The statement concluded with a light-hearted reminder to fans: “Thank you for your understanding and remember – drink your water!”

The medical emergency has impacted the planned performances aboard the Rock Legends cruise, which features other notable acts including Alice Cooper, Styx, John Watie, Foghat and Robin Trower.

Felder was a key member of the Eagles, one of the most successful rock bands to emerge from Los Angeles in the 1970s.

The group has sold over 120 million albums worldwide, creating iconic hits like Take It Easy, One Of These Nights and Hotel California.

Felder’s guitar work was particularly notable on Hotel California, which won the 1977 Grammy Award for Record of the Year.

His tenure with the band ended in 2001, leading to legal disputes over his departure.

He filed lawsuits alleging wrongful termination and breach of contract, with the case eventually being settled out of court in 2007.

The guitarist was previously married to Susan Pickersgill for three decades until their separation in 2000, with whom he has four children.
