Three cars have been set alight during an incident in south Belfast.

The incident happened at a car park in the Diamond Gardens area of south Belfast shortly after 6:30pm on Thursday evening.

Two fire appliances from Cadogan Fire Station attended the scene and firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze.

Police remain at the scene, it’s understood the incident is being investigated as an arson.

A spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) said they received reports of the cars being set alight at 6.41pm this evening, and that the incident was dealt with by 7.36pm.

Police have been contacted for comment.
