The Masked Singer UK’s popular duo, Joel Dommett and Harriet Rose, graced Thursday’s episode of Loose Women on ITV.
The pair joined the conversation with panel members Charlene White, Sunetra Sarker, Gloria Hunniford, and Nadia Sawalha to discuss the much-anticipated final. The trio in the running for victory this weekend include Pufferfish, Dressed Crab, and Wolf.
During the lively chat about predictions and offscreen gossip, Joel and Harriet both let slip that they don’t actually know which celebrities are lurking behind each mask, much to the surprise of some panellists.
Harriet shared her surprise that she’d “screamed her head off” when Eastenders’ star Natalie Cassidy was revealed, having “guessed her early on” and being proven correct with her initially hunch.
Sunetra seemed skeptical of their supposed ignorance regarding the show’s secret identities, reports the Mirror. “Do you not know? ” pressed the ITV star, to which the hosting duo chorused: “No.”
The Loose Women star expressed disbelief, countering: “No, I don’t believe that,” and reiterated: “I don’t believe it, I don’t believe it.”
Chiming in to set the record straight, ITV’s host Harriet insisted: “I’m telling you now, that set is locked down,” subsequently spilling that she had inadvertently ran into a contestant backstage.
Unintentionally, she confessed to flouting the show’s protocol which was a welcomed additional juicy tidbit that piqued everyone’s interest on the panel.
Strict measures are usually put in place to ensure that celebrities’ identities on the show remain a secret from nearly everyone, with only a select few privy to knowing actually who’s on the show, this to minimise the chance of details being leaked before the episodes are broadcast.
Discussing an incident behind the scenes, Harriet revealed that she had encountered one of this years finalists and suggested that she was now aware of who they were.
The host shared: “I got to go backstage where they all hangout and we actually bumped into one of the Masked Singers,” before Harriet playfully hinted: “Who is yet to be revealed.”
