The Apprentice viewers were left in stitches after a candidate’s “absolute joke” offer became the talk of Thursday night’s episode.
The drama unfolded as the BBC show took the aspiring entrepreneurs to Stratford-upon-Avon for their latest task.
During the show, tensions soared as candidates faced a fresh challenge from business titan Lord Alan Sugar. On Thursday, they were grouped into two teams and dispatched to the historic town of Stratford-upon-Avon, tasked with procuring a list of nine items within a nine-hour time frame.
Winning the challenge boiled down to securing these items at the lowest cost possible. The episode saw a jaw-dropping moment when contestant Nadia put forward a bafflingly low offer for a fleece, freshly sheared from a sheep that very day.
Approaching a seller and presented with a £20 price tag, Nadia counter-offered a mere £1.50 – to the astonishment of her team, reports the Mirror.

The seller quickly dismissed the proposition, commenting: “Yeah we couldn’t go that low because it’s just not justifiable, it just doesn’t cover the cost.”
Even when Nadia enquired about his bottom line, he reconfirmed the original asking price of £20. It took another team member suggesting £10 to make headway, though the man appeared reluctant.
Yet, after Nadia increased her offer to £12, he agreed to the sale, prompting much chatter among the audience at home. Away from the group, her team mate Liam remarked: “I think Nadia went in far too low. I got clear instructions from the project manager, Max, to go in at around 50%. The poor fellow’s got to shear a whole sheep for £1.50? It’s an absolute joke.”
Viewers quickly took to Twitter to express their disbelief at Nadia’s £1.50 offer. One person posted: “Sorry but did she just say £1.50 for a fleece . In a negotiation.”

Another viewer tweeted: “£1.50??? YOU CAN’T EVEN GET A BAG OF CRISPS FOR THAT.” Someone else commented: “Nadia trying to get something from £20 for £1.50 has me crying.”
One tweet read: “Let me make you an offer my friend how about £1.50″ when the man said he’d usually sell at £20 what was nadia thinking.” Another user asked: “Is Nadia kidding???”
While another exclaimed: “A fleece is £20… “I’d like to make you an offer my friend …”, “ONE POUND FIFTY” She should be fired just for that. Insulting.” Another tweet read: “How on God’s green earth do you try to negotiate £20 to £1.50 Nadia is a joke. ”

With another adding: “£1.50 HAD KILLED ME her face when she said to it too.” Ultimately, Carlo was the next contestant to exit the BBC competition.
Next week, the teams will have to showcase their culinary skills as they are tasked with creating a dish that appeals to the public. A summary of the episode states: “It’s tomatoes versus potatoes as the teams are tasked with turning crops into cash. They have to create a dish for the public, deliver a bespoke corporate order and sell to trade.
“Sorry but did she just say £1.50 for a fleece [sic]. In a negotiation. In the kitchen, one side’s over-promising leaves them in a pickle, while on the other, some dicey decisions cause profits to plummet.”
The Apprentice continues Thursdays on BBC One from 9pm.
