The Apprentice star Tre Lowe has revealed that his unorthodox approach to a task left show bosses speechless, with them admitting, “We’ve never heard that before.”

Tre, a wellness entrepreneur and musician who rose to fame as part of garage duo Architechs competed on the BBC show last year, reaching the interview round before being eliminated alongside Flo Edwards and Paul Midha.

Ahead of returning to the show as a mentor for this year’s contestants, who were tasked with creating a hit song at Tileyard Studios, Tre reflected on his own experience in the boardroom.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, sponsored by 10bet, Tre shared his proudest moment from the series, which stunned producers.

Tre said: “I think for me, especially watching it back, it was the Formula E [task]. It was the first time I was PM, and it’s not an easy thing to do, you know. If you notice, most people hold the mic, and they pitch, and they all stand in a line. I’m Mr give me the mic, like I’m singing Body Groove, and I’m coming forward.

“But when you’re doing that, the only thing that’s fuelling you is pure passion. And I think when I watched myself delivering that pitch for Formula E, having been given a terrible advert and terrible branding, I meant every word that was coming out of my mouth,” reports the Mirror.

“People think, ‘Tre, how do you come up with this stuff?’ And it’s just passion, like, I mean it. I’m talking about the environment, I mean every word of it, and I’m looking at everyone in their eyeballs, and also very well aware that had I not done that, we wouldn’t be winning, let alone creating a record-breaking win… Watching that back, I was incredibly proud of myself.”

Last year, Tre’s team secured an impressive £38.7 million in sponsorship for their Formula E team, marking the highest sum ever raised during a task on The Apprentice.

Moreover, the show’s producers were astounded by the response to Tre’s pitch, as they disclosed they had never before witnessed such applause on the programme.

“I remember when I delivered that pitch, I got a really big, rapturous round of applause, and even the production was coming and saying, ‘We’ve never heard that before on that show,'” Tre recounted.

“Just watching that, it ticked so many boxes, and it was incredible and was my proudest moment on that show.”

In a more personal revelation during the interview, Tre spoke candidly about the devastating loss of his musician brother, Ashley, and explained how his passing was a significant motivation for participating in the BBC series.

Ashley, who was 49 years old, succumbed to complications from Covid in February 2020, just two months before the commencement of the UK’s initial lockdown.

“One of the reasons why I went on that show was to honour my brother, Ashley, who passed away from Covid in 2020,” Tre shared.

“Every step of the way, I always pictured him watching me, and the thought that I could make him that proud, that he would watch me and be like, ‘Wow, well done,’ I think that meant everything.”
