Daisy May Cooper, the comedic gem known for her madcap antics on “This Country,” faced a real-life drama that could easily be mistaken for one of her zany plots. The actress became an unwilling participant in a bizarre ordeal involving a psychic in Los Angeles earlier this year.

The 38 year old star found herself in a peculiar predicament when she visited a medium during her trip to the States for meetings concerning some thrilling new projects. Recounting the harrowing experience, Daisy said: “I found a psychic in Santa Monica,” someone she has sought out before given her history with the supernatural, having once famously claimed to attempt intimacy with a ghost.

As things took a turn for the worse, Daisy shared: “Ant dropped me off and she said, ‘Is that your partner? You’ll be with him forever… but you shouldn’t be.’ She locked me in her house and said I had a curse and I had to pay her $700 dollars to remove the curse. And I paid it.”

Reflecting on the outrageous encounter, the mother-of-three, who met her boyfriend Anthony Huggins on the Hinge dating app, remarked bemusedly: “I’ve been had, haven’t I? I’m curse free… but I’m worried about my partner.”

Despite the eerie warning from the psychic, the connection between Daisy and Ant seems unshakable, even hinting at wedding bells. The rumour mill went into overdrive when Daisy referred to him as her “fiance” on Instagram stories, spurring speculation of their engagement, reports the Mirror.

Adding to her list of intriguing exploits, Daisy has compiled her personal paranormal experiences—and those of others—into a book titled “Hexy Bitch.”

Promoting her BBC series Am I Being Unreasonable?, Daisy informed fans that her fiancé Ant makes a brief appearance in the second episode of the new season. “Keep your eyes peeled for my fit fiance and baby daddy @ant_evo that I managed to crowbar into the playground scene,” she posted.

Daisy and Ant became parents to Benji in June, with Daisy also having two children from her previous marriage to ex-husband Will Weston.

Daisy has returned to our screens with the second series of the award-winning Am I Being Unreasonable? on BBC One. Discussing the challenges she faced while writing the upcoming episodes, she confessed to Alan Carr on his Life’s A Beach podcast: “We wrote ourselves into a bloody corner. I had four breakdowns. I do believe this series is better than the first.”

The show’s creator Daisy, who portrays Nic, is joined by her brother Charlie Cooper. The siblings previously co-created and starred in This Country.

In the new series, Charlie takes on the role of Jurgeon, a character sporting a mullet, moustache and glasses. Daisy joked about casting her brother, saying: “The funny thing is, we share the same agent, and the same mum, so he can’t exactly say f***ing no can he? I had to put him in a mullet and I had to put him in glasses. The funny thing is, actually, he kept dropping the accent. He’s not very good at a Dutch accent. We had to kind of write that in later on, that he’s not really f***ing Dutch.”
