Heart Radio’s Amanda Holden has candidly expressed her feelings about her hit BBC series, Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job, confessing “we moan a lot”.

After touring Italy in Amanda and Alan’s Italian Job with co-star Alan Carr, the duo returned to our screens, this time taking on Spain. The pair showcase their home renovation skills as they breathe new life into run-down properties.

On The Rest Is Entertainment podcast, Richard Osman played a voice note from Amanda, where the 53-year-old divulged details of the lengthy filming schedule in southern Spain from March to September last year, stating: “It’s knackering and we moan a lot”.

Despite her gripes, she humorously noted that one thing at the end of the day makes it all worthwhile: “But as long as we’ve got a glass of wine in our hands at the end of the day, we’re available for DIY.”

Amanda also spoke about the creative control they enjoy on the show, particularly in decoration, where she indulges in creating mood boards and browsing Pinterest.

She took pride in the interior design choices she’s made, highlighting the genuine passion and love both she and Alan have for their work, as she added: “Our input is genuine and we’re passionate and we absolutely love it.”

Speaking ahead of the new series of the show, Alan shared his excitement at trying to turn the fortunes around of one Spanish property, telling House Beautiful: “We can’t wait to grab our power tools and get our hard hats on and bring some much-needed TLC to a casa in Spain.”

Aside from her recent venture into television with Amanda and Alan’s Spanish Job, the radio presenter has made a name for herself in broadcasting over the years due to her numerous roles on TV and, more recently, radio. Amanda secured one of her most recognisable roles on TV in 2007 when she joined the judging panel of the popular talent show, Britain’s Got Talent, reports Lancs Live.

In addition to her extensive TV work, she now co-hosts her Heart Breakfast show with Jamie Theakston, having taken over from Emma Bunton in 2019.
