Six GTA youths, ages 16-18, face a slew of charges after an Oakville resident noticed thieves attempting to steal the licence plate of a vehicle parked in their driveway.
Halton Regional Police said officers were called to the Dundas St.-Sixth Line area around 3:15 a.m. last Friday.
Police say when the resident switched on the home’s exterior lights, the thieves fled.
Officers later determined the suspects were staying in the basesment of a home in the area, which was being used as a short-term rental.
Officers arrested six teens at a Tim Hortons drive-thru on Centennial Pkwy. in Hamilton at 11:40 a.m. the same day in a stolen Acura SUV.
They’re all charged with possession of property obtained by crime, over $5,000 and other offences.
