A person has been taken to hospital after an emergency incident at a leisure centre in Bristol. Paramedics and a hazardous response team were called to Horfield Leisure Centre this afternoon, Wednesday, February 12.

A photo taken at the scene shows multiple ambulances at the leisure centre. A yellow coach can also be seen parked outside the leisure centre on Dorian Road. The gym at the leisure centre was closed following the incident.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service said a person has been taken to Bristol Royal Infirmary. The gym was closed for a period following the incident but had reopened by 4pm, according to Horfield Leisure Centre.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 14:05hrs on Wednesday 12 February to an incident in Bristol.

“We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an operations officer, a critical care car and the hazardous area response team to the scene. We conveyed one patient by land ambulance to Bristol Royal Infirmary.”
