A timber, fencing and landscaping company in Gloucestershire has rebranded as its parent company marks 80 years in business. Cheltenham Fencing and Landscaping Supplies, off Tewkesbury Road near Kingsditch Retail Park, was acquired by family-run Walford Timber in 2004 and has now taken on the same name as its owner.
Walford Timber was founded by Herbert Smith in 1945 and is based near Ross-on-Wye. The company also owns G & M.B. Manning in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, which it acquired in 2017.
All three branches will now unite under the single Walford Timber brand in recognition of the “longstanding heritage of the business”, the company said.
George Smith, managing director, said: “We are immensely proud of our heritage, and the fact that we are a multi-generational, sustainable business that has grown from strength to strength. Within this time, the world has seen so much change and innovation, and Walford Timber is no exception.
“We thought what better way to celebrate our landmark anniversary than by acknowledging our history with this rebrand. As far as our customers are concerned, it is business as normal and absolutely nothing has changed apart from the name; they can expect just the same high-quality service, support and products that they are used to.”
Cheltenham Fencing is a specialist supplier of fencing and outdoor timber products, and provides products and support to DIY customers as well as the trade, including fencing contractors and installers throughout Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire.
