A popular Bristol Harvester venue has closed its doors temporarily while it undergoes ‘a makeover’. The Harvester at Snuff Mill sent an email out to customers on Monday, February 10, informing regulars of the news.
In a message on its website, the branch confirmed its reopening date in little under a month’s time, and said: We’re sorry to say we are now closed, getting a fresh new look. You can still make a booking from the 5th of March onwards, so book ahead to check out our new restaurant.
“If you can’t wait that long to get your Harvester fix, your nearest Harvester during our closure is Harvester The Willow Brook, Units 5-7 Savages Wood Road, Bradley Stoke, Willow Brook, BS32 8EF.”
The Snuff Mill Harvester venue is popular with families and locals, boasting a sizable car park and cosy bar and restaurant area, with many knowing it for its indoor fish pond and quirky interior décor. One reviewer visiting just a month ago described it as almost being like “a winter village inside a building”.
They said: “The Harvester in Snuff Mill is a great experience with a unique aesthetic – it’s almost like a winter village inside a building! The food here is pretty good, cooked well and tastes good.
“There is room for improvement, I think particularly with the meat, where more flavour could be provided. The staff and service here is generally good. Staff are very nice but may take some time to serve you. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp up to front door available.”
Another said: “I recently dined at Harvester, a charming restaurant set in an old Victorian barn. The ambiance is delightful, with a beautiful pond in the middle of the building that houses koi fish, creating a serene and unique dining atmosphere. The decor and setting are truly something special and add to the overall experience.”
Diners are now curiously waiting to see just how much of its unique and much-loved interior is set to be changed.
